Post subject: 1SQ Meli-max control board replacement |

Holle all:
A few weeks ago I gave my grandson a 1SQ heli-max little quad copter. It lasted him one day. He called me saying it would not start the motors.
He brought it to me and I found that the battery connector on the board had been damaged. I believe he pulled to hard on the connector and bamaged the board. I tried to solder it but could not get it done. Finally ordered a new board. $ 49.95. The cost of the quad was only $ 99.95 so it was close as to weather it was worth it. But!!
So I got the board 8/31/2013. Installed it today. First thing I found was it was not binding to the TX. Noticed a little black button on the board that I pushed for a seconds or so and she blinked and was bound.
So I tried to fly it. Flipped all over the place. I checked the status of the rates. They were down to 30 which is what's recommended for newbies.
Could not think of what else to do. Got the manual out (Always the last thing I do). Found the Heli-Max site and sent them an email stating either I have the motors plugged in the wrong order or the board is not mounted correctly to the front motors sense we have a gyro working here.
After sending Heli-max the email asking for information I found the following maintenacne site:
http://www.helimax-rc.com/helicopters/hmxe0834-1sq/maintenance.html
Here I saw a picture of how the board in mounted in relation to the front (orange propellers) of the quad. That's when I noticed I had rotated the board 90 % to the right. I moved the board back to the left and she flies like a dream.

Yupper Jack,
Shame you had to write it yourself - but then - someone has to break the ground!
