Post subject: 9101S Trouble Spinning up |
|
|
I got a DH9101S used and the batteries are all charged. When I turn on the controller and give it throttle the main rotor jerks like it's going to start to spin then stops. I can do this repeatly. Not sure if its the controller or the Helio. A kid owned it and I suspect he handled the controller rather rough. How can I diagnose if the Helio will spin up? Can I bypas the controller and spin up the blades?

I can only speak from the aspect of a T-34, but I needed my motors checking as well. Connected to the receiver, lights would flash (rx and strobes), but no power to the motors.
Disconnected the motors from the receiver by simply unplugging them. I've a 1.5V - 12V transformer, so I jury-rigged two electrodes so that I could put them across the terminals of each motor in turn.
The battery is a 2S1P lipo (3.7V each cell). I set the transformer to 3V initially, and checked each motor. Only one would spin up (one was clearly dead). I moved up the voltage to 4.5V, then 6V, then 7.5V. Duff motor still duff, but the working motor spinning like the clappers in both directions.
So that one works.
Now whether the good motor NOT spinning up when connected to the receiver is a receiver or transmitter problem, is another story. But that's how I found a good motor when I suspected that both were dead.
Hope that helps. _________________ Never squat with your spurs on. |

There is a helio keosk at the mall that I can bring it to and maybe get them to try one of their controllers? |

That would seem ideal and at least eliminate one potential problem. I've no such luxury in the middle of rural France... but at least the wine is good! _________________ Never squat with your spurs on. |
