Why is there a long antenna on some of the belt cp and then there arre short ones on others |

Long antenna’s are for like 72 MHz if in the USA. The short antenna’s are for 2.4 GHz. 2.4 is better I think. The antenna doesn't have to be wrapped around anything so it doesn’t get caught in the gears or blades and there’s no interference at the field.

Hi fweedon,
The aerial length depends on the frequency on the Tx/Rx, the higher the frequency the shorter the wavelength so the shorter the aerial. This can vary from around 1m for 27mHz down to 5~6cm for 2.4gHz.
