Post subject: Belt CP Gyro Problem |
|
|
Hi!
I have my Belt CP for one month. Everything seems fine till last week when the gyro led starts to flash when connected to power.
I tried to disconnect and connect again the power pack and in the end of some tries it remains steady. This week I just could see it steady once to fly the heli.
When the gyro flashes, the tail servo isn't working and no chance to fly.
I already verified all the connections and the plugs contact. Everything seems fine. Radio seems fine as well.
Do you have any idea about what could it be? The heli is brand new and all the servos are working well. I tested them all!
Should I claim the supplier about the gyro?
Thanks in advance for your prompt answer.
Regards,
José Teixeira

Are you allowing enough time for the gyro initialize, takes like up to 30 seconds before a gyro can figure out what is what. The LED on the gyro will flash untill it takes hold. If you move the bird at all while the gyro is setting up you'll have problems. Power up the bird then let it sit without moving it untill the LED glows steady. If that doesn't help, you could have a bad guro, sorry about that _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

Thanks Dumb.
When I connect power and the led starts flashing, it never becomes steady!
It uses to be steady in 10 to 15 seconds when everything goes fine. In this case it doesn't happen.

Sounds like the gyro has craped out on you. Oh well, nobody ever said this is a "cheap" hobby to get into. _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

Okay, here's a furtherance to my problem.
The red light no longer blinks , all seems well with the gyro. However, the helo still wants to yaw right and spin as she throttle is increased. The rudder is working but not good enough...any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me if it might help if I adjusted the servo arm angle????
Once she gets off the ground, she torques to the right with no left yaw control.

Ok, after reading a bit further around here and talking to my dealer, I found out that the rudder rev/nor switch needed to be reversed..all works well now and she flew well for a bit.
Then one of my dumb co workers decided to plug in the battery without the main controller switch...he needed a few bandaids! But he cracked the main frame and dinged the rotors....cheap hobby??!! |

Let me just jump up on my "soap box" here about the cheap-O clone helie's.
NO real heli with a good radio setup should ever arm untill it sees low throttle from the Tx. It's for saftey so "hot starts" like that don't happen.
Just some friendly advise if you plan on bigger birds later on down the road. A 450 class heli may just as well of cut a finger OFF in that situation. _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

DT, good advise.
I only did it the once and still have a nice scar on my forearm. As for the coworker...well, they were all warned about what not to do but some people just have to touch and play with the shiney stuff.
I fully agree that they helo should have a dead stick start. Not too sure if my is a clone or an authentic real one.
I'm still waiting for the parts to come in, do an install, rebuild and test the system...yet again! Just after getting the darn thing to fly right for the first time!
Cheers, db |
