Thanks Jack & Tom for your responses.

To sum up: One is not going to come off cheaply. We will pay eventually.

These helis are nice but judging from lots of research and surfing through the forums, the price of a BL is typically 1 1/2 times the original sale price, if one flies carefully as soon as possible. (Wonder if they picked this trick up from the printer cartridges guys) Wink

I believe that was what the original owner put in it Jack. Unflyable when I got it but a few hours tuning things up and a Spektrum Tx & Rx plus high lift aerofoil blades and it was better than new!

The battery holder is exactly the same on the CX3, and it is a pain in the ass.

I'll have to try this out, thanks for tip!
