I too would say 120SR or MCPX.
The 120sr is fun indoor and out (on a still day) and can get out of hand PLENTY fast, especially indoors. I have modded mine and it goes like the clappers. They are tough as old boots and cheap to fix. There is a lot of advice out there for them and they will get you used to basic single rotor control and orientation with little financial pain.
The MCPX is fantastic but (for me mind you) I am super-glad you can tune it down almost infinitely. Like Hawzzy siad, it can get away from you in a micro-second and is twitchy as hell. Having said that it is pretty darned tough and if you fancy learning CP (especially indoors or in smaller private areas it is a serious option. It is my first CP model.
Personally the size of a 450 , space needed to casually fly it in and cost/complexity of going through a crash based learning curve with a 450 is enough to put me off for a while.
Having said that, trying a 450 on a simulator proved to be a LOT more controlable than the simulator's MCPX model.
By ALL means, get a sim and get your TX fingers instincts honed on that! _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...
