Post subject: Changing MCX swashplate |
|
|
|
Just got into the ele heli sport and already trying to go faster. I have a Blade MCX and it's just too slow for me. I am ready to buy another heli or try some mods on this one. One mod I heard about is changing the Swashplate. I have looked every where for video that shows how to replace the swahsplate. All my searches take me to You Tube but they only show the MCX flying, not how to change the swashplate. Any body got a suggestion? Also what swashplate is a good option for the MCX? |

If you can afford it, save yourself some time and hassle and just get a more advanced heli. Your speed problem isn't because of the swashplate, it's because of that second, counter-rotating set of rotors on the heli. Co-axials just aren't designed for speed. However, removing the swashplate is a simple matter of removing the blade hub, unsnapping the linkages, and sliding it off the shaft. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Hi bladebender
I assume you are talking about the original mcx and not the newer mcx2.
If thats the case this old thread could be just the thing you are looking for.

If you scroll down the thread you will find another link by "shoe73" which includes a guide on how to change your swashplate in step by step photo's. |

Spending a few bucks to upgrade a stock plastic swashplate to an alum one on a micro is $$ well spent. First thing I do to all my micros.
Micro Heli makes some nice drop in replacement parts and cane be found here-
