This was the best crash that never happened on me. I was swapping out the gyro on my HK450 and happen to notice that one blade grip seemed like it had a little more slop in it then the other side. Mind you, I was just flying this heli half an hour ago and did notice something was off but thought nothing about it. Come to find one of the blade grip balls was scary loose
It had LockTite on the screw but somehow still worked itself loose. Fixed that and went over the whole rest of the heli looking for loose screws and found another one on one side of the seesaw frame and another on the tail pitch link to grip.
I just thought that if I use LT right then I had nothing to worry about, but now I'm going to do a more thorough pre-flight check more often. _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

When I fly my 450 I go thru it every 3 to 4 flights. the vibrations on a small heli are different then the larger ones, they are a higher frequency and can cut thru lock tite in a short time.
Glad you caught it before it got really ugly. _________________ Trex 450V1...Trex 600Nitro Flybarless, Outrage Velocity 50 flybarless. Frenzy V2 50.
Crashing is just a landing that cost you money.. |
