Has any one used the Lightning Power 7.4V 1050mAh 30C 2S1P Lipo in a CX and had success with them? _________________ Nathan Sonnier

Tell us the weight differences again too; it was something like a 25% increase, right?
That way even if no one actually has this specific battery, people can still make guesses as to whether or not it will be worth it. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Yes, the weight of the stock is 1.5 oz and 1059 mah is 2.3 oz just looking at it I think 25 - 30 %. With the increase in motor power xtreme pro 180s and V2 blades I would think it would greatly over come that deference? But thats my question to you more experiences fliers. _________________ Nathan Sonnier

As I see it you have a 153% increase in weight and a 132% increase in available power. I could be wrong but I think that that will shorten your flight time. Might work if the figures were the other way around, or maybe some Clark-Y section, highlift blades. (You'll probably have to make them yourself though - I don't know of a supplier! )

hi Tom, not sure about how you came up with 153% I calculated 53% increase in weight. but I'm going from 10c to 30c not sure but thank there would be more then a 32% increase in power _________________ Nathan Sonnier

The C rating is the max power that can be delivered but not the power used, that depends on the electronics that the battery is feeding.
For example:
On test my mini Spitfire draws 2.7A at full power with a 7.4V, 350mAh, 15C battery.
Putting a 7,4V, 2,200mAh, 30C battery into its battery connector; it still draws only 2.7A at full power.
The current drawn only depends on the available current when the battery cannot meet the demand. That is when your battery gets hot and burns! A bigger battery will not force more current into the circuit, but it will weigh more. If you can supply lift at the same power requirements as before then you will see an increase in flight time, but extra weight invariably means more power to hold flight.
