Is there something I'm doing wrong? I have striped 2 outer shaft gears. Gear mesh looks and feels OK. I'm using xtreme pro 180's I have put the stock fuses on them. Are the motors just that strong? _________________ Nathan Sonnier

It's a pain to get those motors to mesh correctly, I ended up having to use a few tiny shims to get it right.
Is the pinion gear centered on the main gear? When you run a strip of paper between them, do you get a nice little accordion fold? _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

\Yes the paper goes through and has the accordion fold. The brass gears run a little high but all the pinon is run all on the main gear. by the way I'm using xtreme gears and shafts _________________ Nathan Sonnier

In my personal experience with extreme gears and shafts both on my cx2 and my big lama, I have found that the only thing extreme about them is the extreme lack of quality and workmanship that goes into making them.. I've been through too many inner and outer gears and shafts for big lama and they are all garbage... I would stick with OEM parts especially for the cx2/3.. Change the motors if you want but extreme parts are extreme peices of crap... _________________ BLADE CX2, 120SR, SR, Scout CX, ESky Big Lama, E500

I did not want to he that. I liked the fan design in the gear spokes I made a shroud to cool the motors seams to work great, after app. 15-20 of flying time there cooler by touch then before the shroud. I also am tying to to shut down the motors faster before a wreck to stop the gear strips. _________________ Nathan Sonnier

Yeah, me neither really... But I've had more of the extreme parts for my big lama than my cx2.... To be more specific, 4 inner and 4 outer gears, 4 outer shafts, and 5 of the extended inner shafts.. The extended inner shafts were great, worked nicely, but every inner and outer shaft gear were extremely warped and/or bent causing a significant amount of body vibration.. Some to the point the heli would shake violently during flight and I'd have to set her down. With a few other parts and some gain/proportional tweaks I overcame that defect but all in all I would stay away from extreme gears, inner or outer.. Maybe they are of a slightly better quality for the cx2/3 but with availability of blade parts i've never had to really rely on extreme parts for my cx2 or 120 sr. _________________ BLADE CX2, 120SR, SR, Scout CX, ESky Big Lama, E500
