Are all ESC's basically the same? I know there are different outputs etc; however, if two brands have the same figures - does it matter? My reason for this is that my Walkera 400D blew and ESC awhile back which pretty much destroyed the 'copter as it existed then. I am now having this spinning problem which is discribed in another post and it has been suggested to me that the ESC "could" be the cause. If so, I would like to replace it with a none Walkera one and see what happens.

Hi Pappy,

As long as the spec is the same (or better) I don't see a problem. It should work. However according to a pic of your personal 400D you have 2 ESCs. They would have to be balanced. i.e. Both changed in a matching pair.

Tom.

Hey Tom:

Believe it or not - She has 3 ESC's. When I put the upgrade on for the brushless motors the kit came with two ESC's that actually plugged into the old ESC. So, I guess, I could change the main ESC, leaving the two add on ones alone.

I shall also carefully do a wire trace on my 400D to insure that the right motors are connected properly IAW you comments on my other post.
