Post subject: Esky Belt CPv2 + DX6i Tx - Is it worth it? |
|
|
Question:
Is it really worth the cost and time to upgrade the Esky stock Tx to DX6i ?
Is it essential or "nice to have".
The heli is an Esky Belt CPv2 - Will it really be an advantage to upgrade the Tx? Will I fly any better?
Your opinions please. _________________

Well St Bosse, I doubt that it will make a lot of difference to your flying abilities. The main reason for a DX6i or better is to have many models on the one Tx. ( I currently have 8, 4 helis + 4 fixed wings, on my DX6i and a couple more to come soon.) It does save lugging lots of Txs about with you. Only my yacht is on a 72mHz Tx and that's because the waves blanket 2.4gHz.

Hi St Bosse,
In addition to the muliple models you can fly on the same Tx, it is fully programmable you can vary every aspect of control over your helicopter, Expo would be the main benifit to you at the start, making your controls less sensitive around centre stick and increasing it exponentially as movement increases. But as you progress you will find heaps of great features. _________________ Keep your rotors spinning

If you're planning on flying it a lot I would, it's an easy upgrade since all you have to do is swap out the receiver.
If I recall correctly, the pre-programmed expo and Flight-mode settings on the stock transmitter are really weird. The throttle also doesn't have a very soft-start although that may be due to the ESC, but these are all things that a computerized transmitter would help with. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar
