More likely everybody that bought a clone is wrenching on it, upgrading it or fixing it so it'll at least hover.
I did a HK 450 clone once myself. Never again
Just my 2 cents. |

Well thats not my experience with my Clone ....... and I know others with HK and other clones ... they seem to be flying OK as well ...
I would not be able to afford to fly a 450 if I had to pay Align prices ... simple fact. Especially going through learning stages ... with crashes, breaks and repairs.
Never said a clone is as good as Align original ... but will say this :
I have both Align and clone one-way bearings ......... the clone is much better .. stronger wall and fits perfectly. At 1/4 the price ... in fact the price is 1/2 that of align ... but you get a pair !! I at first thought a pair because it will break easily ... not after being sent an Ailign original by a pal in UK and comparing.
But that's only 1 item ... rest I accept is likely poorer quality. But it works. |

I'm not flying.
I have a old car that giving me fits. If I stay in my little 5 stop light town the car runs fine. If I go an hour away it has to be towed home.
Happened again tonight. I took my wife to McNeal Mississippi for a cat fish dinner at Jack's and took the old 1968 Mustang. Been running fine for a week. Once we got there and ate and of course I was showing off my ride. It would not start. Five times I poured some gas down the carburetor. I would fire until the carb ran dry. Never did get it to run. Had to get another flat bed to carry the price car home.
I'm spending all my time working on the old car. No time to Fly and I'm working on two more new Fixed wings.

Sounds like grit holding a one-way valve in the fuel pump open, or could just be a leaky diaphram. Last time something like this happened to me I used the washer bottle and tubing to rig up a gravity feed to the carb. Held just enough to only need 1 top-up enroute.

I'd check the pickup in the tank.
They look like a little sock, and pre prone to collapses, or getting clogged up wihith debri. |

Crank driven fuel pump.. Bad diaphram. The more they sit, the
worse they git. Good news is, it`s an easy fix. |

No worries .... funny actually as the original "Bullet" Mustang is one of the few US cars that I like .... that and the Dodge Charger.
Steve McQueen and all that ....
Thinking of Steve McQueen ... my Father flew a B17 from Canada to UK back in 60's for a Steve McvQueen movie called 'The War Lover' .... him and friends who did the Berlin Airlift ... one of the guys had a Company that supplied various to movie companies ... my father was invited to navigate the B17 ....
Here phoó'd actually en-route ....
The actual B17 (sorry about the elongation of photo ... it's the software when it extracted it from the 8mm cine film ....)
I was young kid then and after the filming - they flew it back to Canada ... but before the actual return floight - there was a photo session at Gatwick Airport in UK ... and I was ON the plane for it ...
So ... no worries !! |

I have the original wheels and hubcaps for my Mustang. However before my daughter and her husband gave me the car they bought a set of Bullet (Steve McQueen) mag wheels for it. They are made by American mags. They come two ways. One set has silver spokes the those has the spokes painted a dark gray. I like the dark gray like Steve had but my came came with silver. I of course didn't say anything. I'm so thank full to have the car.
My kid knew how I loved those wheels and I'm a big fan of the Movie 'Bullet'. The great excape too.
