.
If any kind soul would like to cast their eyes over the following and give me a considered opinion, I'd be grateful. It is a bit traumatic - like walking the plank:

Tarot 450 FBL with most stuff included. I can experiment with servos/motors etc., in the event of digging a hole in the garden... Laughing ;

Along with the above a multifunction ZYX gyro programmer and an ESC card programmer. Anybody used these to make life easy (in theory) and are they worth it? Cost is minimal.

Shipping for the whole lot less than €27. Unreal.

DX6i from Al's Hobbies - seems to be cheapest on the planet for a new DX6i. Is that receiver OK? Would an Orange rx from Hobbyking be any better?

Of course, + 2500 Gens Ace 3S lipo, 13T pinion for the motor. Anything else of significance I may have missed?

As I say, this will be my first build, so I've gone for a kit with most stuff included. That makes the decisions for me. When the time comes (and surely it will), I can experiment.

Thanks for the input.

Cheers

I would not say the Orange rx would be better.
I think the Spektrum AR6100E or AR6110E should be sufficient.
Mine have never failed.
I've got 2 ESC card programmers but they don't seem to work on most ESC'S. I think they are a waste of money.

The DX6I is a super radio. All you need now is SKYPE and Tombo242 and your in business.

My 2 cents worth.

Jack

Can't get mic. sound on Skype. I've let Tom know as we've had a few chats. Keeping trying.

Well, the Tarot has arrived. That's damned quick from China. They only notified dispatch the day before yesterday. Very Happy

And it's in 1000 pieces or more. Every last micro washer has to be assembled... This is going to be fun. Laughing

Those 1000 pieces or more will soon be one big piece. Good luck with the build.

Thanks, guys.

First thing I want to do is build a reliable 12V power supply from an old computer PSU. A friend just gave me one, chopped all the terminals off, hooked up the green to earth and it's... duff. Shocked

I think he thinks I was going to fix it first. Laughing
