There are no good free simulators 3D - only free ones.
You could try this one for Mac. It's an FMS development, the Mac link is at the bottom left of the page. _________________ Keep Smiling |

Your the only flier I know with a Mac Luke.
You could try this freebee and let us know how it runs.
Nothing wrong with FMS at the price! _________________ Keep Smiling |

3d flyer,
Phoenix will run on a mac, but it's far from free. I am not sure what hoops you have to jump through to get it to work. If your interested, go into the Phoenix web site and contact their Tech Dept, they will let you know what's needed. |

I use a mac as my home computer. I like it a lot better than a pc, but even a mac has it's drawbacks. What I'm getting from the thread is that I would be better off to buy a pc along with the flight sim. Been wanting a pc anyway. Nothing fancy just some thing the watch hulu or other tv/movie sites on. I too am looking for a decent flight sim. Nothing cartoony.

I can't recommend ClearView enough for the PC Tom. At $49.99 for a lifetime license with all upgrades and new models, it's very hard to beat. Definately not cartoony and the latest fields are just great.
Here's a screenshot of my own Pitts design flying in Clearview:
I based it on my model which is no longer in production.

Howdy Tom, Tom here.
Clear view looks like a sim that I could use just fine but, I dont have a PC. Couldn't find anything about it running on a mac. For the price it's hard to beat. $49. Bucks is a nice price. The video showed Nightflyer using his DX6i. I can get a pc at wally world or best buy if need be. Thats cheaper than heli parts and no down time. Does it come with the cord to connect the DX6i to the laptop? Thanks for your Tom.

Howdy Tom,
Clearview is a simple download for a free demo but you will need a lead to connect to your DX6i. This page on the ClearView site has useful links and info. Recommended lead is here.
The ClearView forum is also a great source of info. (You'll find me there - same name.) Here's an interesting link.
Along with a few other ClearView forum members I make free models for ClearView use (like the Pitts above, scroll down the page for them).
I was wrong about the price it's $39.99 USD. Here's the download page. You can click on 'Buy' to check without buying.
If I can help further just ask.

I was just looking at the clearview forum and they now have an MCPX for the clearview software program. First thing I have to do is to go and buy a pc. I'll check out wal mart or best buy today. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll say it again, this forum has been a great help to me.
Tom
Just looked at the Link for the usb cable. The $10.00 is that the one I want? It shows it's on backorder. Bummer. _________________ Esky Big Lama

Sorry Tom,
I've been checking around and I can only find onecable that is not on 'Back Order'. The one you want is this one. Select "JR mini 3.5 (U4)".
Hope this helps some.

Thats the cable I ordered. Not sure if it'll be here before next Christmas or what but I ordered it. AAAAAH, back on my Mac. After using that PC for just long enough to down load the ClearView program I had smoke coming out of my ears. I'm sure it's just me cause I'm just too use to the macbook. It's really a nice PC but if CV had a program for mac I could have spent the money on more heli stuff. Now I'm gettin greedy. Someone smack me. Tried using the keyboard but to no avail. I'll just have to wait.
