Well here I am at last with a blade 450, arrived yesterday. Winter is on it's way looks like the flying season is over for this year. I'm not sure how to program the DX6I transmitter for the 450. Mike sent me a video how to set it up for the 120sr and worked great, so wondering if there is anything out there that can help me out for the 450 ? I just have to get that right before I try hover. Only have Model Name as BLD 450 programmed. I must have had at least 150 flights with B120sr so far, only a few minor crashes so still working great.
Richard

Google "Finless Bob" or "MikeysRC" -both do excellent online vids of setting up 450's.

Also google "Setting up 450 Helicopter" ... there are loads of pages devoted to them ... and I have a file made up of various I printed of, that I refer back to when needed. In fact I google for just about all RC stuff I have .. build up printed archives ... saves reloading on PC etc.

The DX6i settings are in the Blade 450 manual.

Hi Nick.
I think what Richard wants is settings for a newbe as this will be his first
crack at a CP. Its a big steep from a 120 SR to a B 450.

Surely that then would be standard settings as per usual ? With him using only NORMAL curves and not Idle UP ? If the DX6i manual does have settings ... then I would assume them to be middle of road safe ...

Let's be honest - if you stray too far from final settings you'd use once you can fly ... then you have a harder learning curve. I was advised to set Tx / model up from very start with settings that would take me right through to advanced ... I didn't listen and softened down the settings ... thinking it would help me get airborn. I was wrong ... I soon realised that it was adding a step unnecessary. I then re-set my Tx to standard settings +/- due to model / Tx differences and got on with it.

So to OP ... set-up as online / manual / generally advised ... then use NORMAL curves ... forget Idle Up till you can fly !!

The beginner settings listed in the manual are about as toned down as the heli can get and still be controllable.

The cyclic response is so mushy down at 50% or whatever it is they recommend that it's almost like an FP: you really have to throw the cyclic stick to get any forward flight at all.

I started with a 120Sr and Moved up to the Blade 450 also. I programmed in the intermediate settings that came in the manual for my Dx6I and flew those settings until I had hovering down, then I switched to the advanced profile.

You should check out the Blade 450 forum on helifreak. There is alot of specific info about the B450 there.
