Post subject: Gyro gain question |
|
|
Hi all,
Slight problem with my Gyro on Trex 450 Plus. I have adjusted the gain so that when hovering the tail stops wagging and stays solid. When I move it around, ie turn it 90 degrees, it wags a bit before coming to a stop. Have a Futaba 6j transmitter. Initially I had the gain set at 40, now its down to 25..
Not sure whats wrong.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Rick,
The final test in tail set-up is to give the heli tail a twitch and ensure that the tail does not overshoot (as yours does). If so, the gain is still too high, try reducing it by very small amounts and rechecking each time.

What Gyro are you using ?
Reason I ask is that my Gyro has two ways to set gain ... on the gyro itself and second by the Tx.
So if my on Gyro gain is set too high - then I have to push my Tx setting way down much lower than expected ...
There are also silly things that can affect action ... using Analogue setting on Gyro when it's a Digital servo .. (if you use Digital on an analogue servo - usually the servo will fry !)....
The Tx you use ... when does the "Gain" change from Heading Hold to Rate Mode on your Tx ?
Just thoughts to check ...
