Got bored and I built a Helipad the other day for my heli.
Used a 2x2 piece of board and painted it with a black rubbery paint I had for the shed and then used masking tape to sketch an "H". I glued some 15mm pipe tubing underneath to lift it off the ground a bit. I have 500 skids on heli and placed foam balls from training gear on skids to increase height a bit as I am still learning. Works for me. Haven't taken it to the park yet.

Mine was a scrap piece of OSB (it's a type of wood particle board pressed and glued ... with resin ) .... about 1.5m square ....

Painted grey with yellow circle and H painted on ...

That's a 450 SE V2 sitting on it ...

Here's my first effort a year or two back!

Definately a 'Multi-use' job. I was flushed with excitement! Shocked

Tom.

I am looking for some type of a portable, fit in the car helipad. Our club flys at a sod farm, and the TRex 450 just isn't tall enough for the tail rotor to clear the grass, There are also stability issues when landing. I did a search on helipad, but did not find a single hit.

No reason why any of the two here could not be split into sections and hinged or clipped together.

Mine actually sat on roof-rack if I wanted .. or in the trailer when I donated the runway to my guys ...

It now sits out in the field where we fly. I need to make another for at home.

One guy before me at our field used a house insulation foam block ... 18mm thick, 1.2m x 1.2m square. He had light web straps over it and tent pegs at side to hold it down ....
Was interesting when strong winds used to blow it away ... our FPV guy who supplied it originally, would use his FPV to find it again !! Seriously - true.

But mine stays put ... so that game has ended.
