I've been using helisimRC, I started using the large model and have now progressed onto the smallest one just to sharpen up the reflexes. Lazy eights, banked turns, hovering tail and nose in all manageable now, not always elegant mind.

Using the small model hovering just off the ground, about an inch or two. When I go into slow forward flight the lift increases (fair enough, I understand why). The amount of increase seems to be extreme in the sim though, to the point were I think I'll not get the heli back on the ground. I've now adjusted the model parameters (transitional lift) down.

Question:
How much extra lift in still air will I get with my Honey Bee when I move it forward gently?

If gently is really gently, very little. Transitional lift is closely (but not directly) proportional to speed. If you are already in ground effect, which gives additional lift, the effect will be very small. You may not even notice it happening.

Can't help with HeliSim, I don't use it. ClearView or sometimes Aerofly Pro D L are my usual sims.

Tom.
