Caine,
Thanks for that link, but really needed photos of the actual heli in order to see if any thing mechanical is amiss.
However, in view of it being brand new and the data on that link states 4050.00 min for charging the battery (seems a very long time), I thing the battery may-well be duff. In which case contact the retailer and enquire about getting the whole heli replaced.

The flight duration depends on the battery capacity and the state of charge per cell. This applies to all LiPO batteries, they must never be discharged to lower than 3.0 volts, or higher than 4.2 volts per cell.
In the case of small coaxal helis with only 1 cell, which are charged directly from the transmitter, if capacity of the batteries in the transmitter is low, that will effect how much charge the Receiver battery will receive and hence the duration of flight.
Time must be allowed for LiPO batteries to cool down prior to recharging.
So:
are the AA battery cells in the Transmitter, Duracell or similar type?
How long is it taking for the helicopter battery to charge up?
If you can see the RX battery in the helicopter, does it look puffed-up at all?
Also, do the rotors turn freely?
After how many flights did the fault become apparent?

Duracell, not sure as it is charged on a usb through laptop, the vattery doesnt puff up, turn freely and it was like it from day one.
