G'day,

was given a mystery 450 as above, BIG jump from my Huan Qi VehiCross 3 channel!...

Battery is massive, not sure where to mount this bad boy; directly beneath the chassis in the landing gear? Doesn't seem to fit inside the cabin..

Is the Mystery 450pro compatable with the Trex450? Parts wise.

Looking at that heli on the internet it looks a good copy of my t-rex 450 pro. However, i dont know if the t-rex parts are compatible. The battery sits on the sloping tray at the front. You should have velcro on the battery and on the battery tray, and hold the battery from moving by using a velcro strap through the frame and round the battery. When flying a 6 channel c/p heli you dont want the battery moving around it would play havoc with the centre of gravity.

Yeah thanks Chopper 54. Had another look through the carry case and no Velcro was supplied (demonstrates the void between original and replica models! Smile ) It would have made more sense to me if it was present..

Easily fixed!

I'm patiently awaiting the simulator for the chopper before I dare fly it...although it's so tempting!

How does the t-Rex go? Was it difficult to learn?

In fact the Velcro is rarely supplied with ANY kit or ARF / RTF .... defeats me why not ... considering it's only a few cents worth ...

As other says ... I have self-adhesive velcro from a Dressmakers shop for locating the battery to the tray, (tip : always stick the softer fluffy side to any item that removes ... then it doesn't hook into clothes etc. ) ... then a velcro strap round to keep it pressed down and from moving.

As you've noticed - the battery trays are way shorter than the battery !! You can buy 3rd party extended trays but these are only necessary if you are getting into extreeme flying where the security of battery is a problem.

Hi Stuck_in_a_tree
The t-rex is a good quality heli but i didn't learn on it. I started with a little coaxial then an msr, 120 sr and my first c/p was a twister gold which i crashed on a regular basis until eventually managed a decent hover. Last week i bought the new msr-x flybarless for indoor fun. Wow this thing is fast. I found it more of a challenge to fly than the 450 size. Good practice for your thumbs and really tough.
