Of the two I would go for the Innovator because it's made by Thunder Tiger who has been in the rc heli business for a long long time and are very reputable.

You might also want to consider the SRB Quark by Hirobo.

If I had to choose between

The Mini Predator the Innovator MD530 or the SRB Quark by Hirobo.

I would agree with hound15, and go for the SRB Quark.

If you look on Youtube, you will see SRB Quark fly's nice.

Of the two original helicopters you mentioned, it is the TT Innovator MD530 – no question. However I also do not know what level of helicopter experience you have. If non, or co-axial is your current level, I would also endorse the view to start with the Hirobo SRB Quark.

My learning route has been Hirobo XRB Llama, Hirobo SRB Quark, TT Innovator MD530 and I also bought the TT Innovator EXP last week.

The Innovator is IMHO the best first CP helicopter, but the Quark will teach you so much, is a practical indoor helicopter as well as being absolutely fantastic outside on calm mornings and evenings. I love my Quark and will always have one and enjoy ‘blatting’ it about my garden. The Innovator is a much bigger machine, and is quite a different animal, but the perfect first CP platform. Software with the Innovator is essential.

I appreciate your input very much, makes me really want the Innovator, Ive had a little fly a couple of days ago and liked it a lot, as a novice on the build side it takes away the construction side which I dont want to get to bogged down with until im really happy flying and want to put the bigger money into a heli. My goal is a turbine heli with scale fuses...im a pretty competant controlled flyer, nothing radical but i prefer the scale type of flying rather than this 3D nonsense I just dont see the fascination of that? but each to there own...im looking into turbines too at the moment and probably going to get the Wren 54 stage one initially and add on the gear box etc once i learn about the turbine on a test bed. all in good time though. theres an open day at the wren factory this sunday so may have a drive over to see whats going on. Thanks again, wether is set to be good this weekend so hope you get some flying in, all the best! J.

Wow turbines.... I wish you luck, will you be considering Hellicommand for the scale machine?

Yes weather looks set fair... unfortunately I am busy this weekend building a computer for my eldest daughter, and returning her and it to Warwick University Sunday. However I hope to take Monday off and fly down to Somerset to collect an Outrage G5. Seems I probably live quite close to you!

All our PCs (5) at home are homebuilt, plus I do some for friends & relatives, I quite enjoy the hardware build - but the software build is a long and tedious process.

I am in Upwood, Cambs (Ramsey) just to the south of Peterborough.

Hi Jonathan73,

First I must apologise,

When I first answered your question. You was looking for a larger heli from the Mini Predator or the Innovator MD530,

Hound15 gave us a third choice, and went with what I would have picked myself,

But this was not what you was asking, Looking at them both. The Innovator MD530 would suit your needs.

Trev.

Jonathan

If it would help, before you hand over your hard earned dosh, maybe we could get together - we are quite close, and as I have both Quark and Innovator, you can see them both in action to help you decide?

You don’t get offers like that everyday Jonathan, how friendly are we here in this forum,

Nice gesture EtheAv8r,

If the price is no object you might fancy the New AS-350 3-Blade Eurocopter only $500 without transmitter.

Obviously modelled off my animated profile helicopter.

No response, so I guess that'll be a 'no thanks' then!
