That's a site I've previously looked at. But as you say, things change as technology changes. I'll tread ([dis]charge) carefully in any event.

To keep lipo's healthy its a good idea to get a good quality charger.
That will make sure the cells are balanced properly and you can also storage charge them if they wont be used for a while. The chargers that come in the box with the heli's are often poor quality and dont work very well at all. The charger that came with my Blade 400 was useless and would have wrecked the battery had i continued to use it. |

Nothing missed; it's the informers who did not say that the discharge MUST be done with a Li-Po charger/discharger. Fully discharged for a Li-Po is 3V/cell, so a 3 cell Li-Po is fully discharged at 9V, NOT down to 0V. Easy thing to leave out when you forget that not everyone has a Li-Po charger/discharger. If you discharge with a bulb or other resistor to below 3V/cell then you WILL ruin the Li-Po.
Hope this helps some.

Thanks - that's a lot clearer now.
I'll research some more kit... _________________ Never squat with your spurs on. |
