gud day!!

need advice on next heli. I am currently flying a Kestrell 500sx (fixed pitch) 9 Eagles it is a good heli cheap, forgiving and parts are numerous here. I am still learning on adjustments and patience on this one but i want to have a mark on my next rc .. so i have the following characteristics.

1. Want to fly outdoors with typical everyday breeze and wind but stable enough to be flown indoors

2. Pls. state what parts are prone to replacement so i can order them together with the heli if i do not have a supplier here in the Philippines and if there are compatible parts to use.

3. I am not a fan yet of extreme aerobatics and would love scale and like to have pitch control on main and tail rotors

4. I want them light enough so when i crash them there would not be too much damage.

5. I am leaning towards the V120D025 because i think it is small enough but i dont know if parts will be available here when i exhaust my pre-ordered spares & suddenly have a craving to fly like ..everyday

6. Or would it be more better if i start building a 250 size align helicopter and buy a transmitter (which type is best?) for a long term relationship

Open to all your wisdom thanks!!!!

Hi Squid,

You are in the best place to find out what spares are available in your area.

Forget the 250s they are too twitchy for a beginner, unless they are flybarless and fitted with a good quality 3 axis gyro.

Small helis are OK indoors, but forget outside unless the air is still.

Go for a 450 clone and build that. Easier to fly and you will know how to repair it.

Spares req: Blades, mainshafts, feathering shafts, blade holders, main gears, Jesus bolts, a tail boom, and a spare servo or two.

Tom.

Thanks Tom!

Will take your advice. 100% of veteran flyers say the same though i consider the 250's because of the number of open fields in our area are becoming more and more limited and distant nevertheless there are always the cemeteries here!!

much obliged!!!
