Not sure if this is a gain problem or not. Heard a lot about gain but not really sure what it is or what to do about it. Anyways my msrx has a tail wag. Thanks everyone.

Tail wag is usually caused by too much gain on the gyro. Causes overshoot and recoil in a cumulative action.
Just slowly reduce the gain until it stops.

Howdy Tombo,
OK, I can do that in the TX? Got all kinds of stuff in the mail today. Extra blades for the MSRX, landing skids, and 5 more batteries. YEE HAW!! Everything is up and flying again. Thanks for the info on the gain. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks again.

Well I checked in the settings on my TX and it showed 0-50% and 1-50%
so I changed the 0 to 30% and it still wags. It's not doing it all the time only when it's hovering hands off. I have it trimmed pretty well. Then I raised it 0-70% still has that waggle when it hovers hands off the sticks. Doesn't do it when I climb or manuver. Ideas? Thanks all. It's not that big a deal, I was just wondering.

I put the gyro settings backto the 0-50% and the 1-50% the tail wag is still a little bit of a problem but it's not as bad as the TBE. I've changed everything but the swash plate and it looks good, no sloppy movement and the bearing looks good. Also changed the main gear, and the blades. I also had to change the main frame cause I broke one of the arms that hold the canopy. Still cant figure out the toilet bowl effect problem. Could sure use some ideas of what to do next. Thanks everyone for all the help.
Tom
Update: I change the swash plate and that seems to help a little but it still requires constant input. No hands free hover with this the way it is. I'll keep working on it. _________________ Esky Big Lama

Post subject: Rudder Trim and mSRx Toilet Bowel Effect (TBE) |
|
|
My Blade mSRx was experiencing toilet bowel effect (TBE). I did not observe any tail wag. Somebody on another forum suggested zeroing out all trim on the transmitter. My rudder had a click or two of trim, can't remember how my cyclic trims were set. I zeroed all of the trims, disconnected & reconnected the flight battery, and the TBE was gone. I still don't understand why it worked, but it did.
My transmitter is a Spektrum DX6i. I'm using the "acrobatic" (airplane) setup for the mSRx (even though it's a helicopter) with all settings at their defaults.
Good luck!

If all else looks OK on the heli try this tail blade out.

I have em on my MSR, MSR X and MCP X they really do fly way better then stock blades and it's a cheap & easy hop-up. Aside from that make sure the tail boom isn't split along the length. _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

Well first of all the gyro gain is NOT adjustable on this heli, so stop trying that.
My mCP X got tail wag seemingly out of nowhere one time and the problem ended up being a slightly bent tail rotor from a previous crash. Try sliding yours off and twisting it gently in the correct direction to ensure it's balanced and has the correct pitch.
If that doesn't work, my next suspect would probably be the tail motor itself. If the aileron and elevator gyros are working, I kind of doubt something could be wrong with the rudder gyro only. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar
