JUST got my MSR X.
Sweeeeeeeeeet. It looks beautiful and hovers from the hand beautifully.
I'll give it a good run later or tomorrow AM and let you know what I think.
Seems solid and tidy, that's for sure. _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...

I saw one the other day in the hobby shop and was almost tempted. However i seem to recall no matter how gently i landed the heli i was forever buying replacement landing gear and the msr x landing gear looks just as weedy as the original. I now use my two 120 sr as my indoor practice models. I am hoping the 120 sr will get the fly barless upgrade. That would be very hard to resist. |

The LG is a bit beefier than the MSR and not interchangable. I've had good luck with my MSR so I'm hoping that's transferrable!
The pins on the LG are also wider set.
I too would love a 120SR X...here's hoping! It would be really nice to have a truely outdoor capable 120sr. _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...

I got mine a few days ago and I'm loving it. It's pretty much exactly how I imagined the mSR would be if it lost its flybar. You have full control over the cyclic, making it feel like a somewhat sluggish mCP X. I don't think it gets any more ideal for small-spaces indoors.
I've also taken it outside and it's almost as fast as the mCP X in FFF. I even squeezed a loop out of it by diving down first to pick up speed. You need so much altitude it's kind of like what's the point, but it's nice to know it's capable. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Picked up my mSR X last week. I think I'm going to see if some aileron to (+) elev mixing in the DX7 will help overcome the tendency for it to want to dive in left banked turns. Right turns are OK, just fast left turns puts it on the deck. _________________ Next Level 650 Quad Copter, T-Rex 500, 450SEv2 & 250

I have found that the MSR X really is like a detuned MCPX.
Being as poor a flyer as I am I had to knock the MSRX down a bit to be confident with it in a small room.
It really is weird flying what looks like an MSR without it self correcting! I can really tell this bird will go like a bat out of hell in a more open space.
It didn't have as much punch as I had thought but at the same time I haven't noticed any blow out either, for me a happy compromise like that suits me just fine. Perhaps I'll get some brand new batteries and see how it does in a head to head comparison with the MSR. _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...

Yeah I found some nice 25C or higher batteries really wake it up.
I think the new motor is just too much for the old 12-15C's. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Hello All,
I picked up a mSR X at a local hobby shop this past weekend after seeing it just had to add it my 'hanger' here for some indoor flying.
Here is my problem I can not seem to get this thing under control - it just takes off like a rocket, I have discovered that pushing the right stick in I can select the 'slower' servo response.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciate. _________________ Keep Em Flying

Well I just ordered my msr-x. I got the $3.99 overnight shipping so it will be here tomorrow. Now for the DX6i. A video I saw on youtube showed how easy it was to bind to MSR-X

Hey Tom,
Have fun with that new mSR X, after discovering how to 'slow' down servo response by pushing in the right stick on the supplied Blade tx all is fine!
Truly a nice helo for indoor flying -
Enjoy! _________________ Keep Em Flying

My mcx is like that. Whenyou push the right stick down it lets you know it's in slow ode with the flashing red power light. Now for the 120 SR. YEE HAW!!! It's going to be a good week.

Yes indeed the ability to slow down the servo is a big bonus for someone like myself - someone who is prone too crashing! javascript:emoticon(' ')
I did look at the 120 SR but decided to go with the mSR X because I wanted to stay with a fixed pitch helo that that did not have a flybar, one that would allow to my fly indoors too continue hone my brain to stick inputs. I do like the idea that the mSR X and the 120 supports the ability to move into the spektrum transmitter environment as having only one transmitter instead of the three as I currently have would be great!
Keep em flying!

Well my MSR-X arrived. YEEEE HAWWW!!!! To say it's kinda fast is like saying my first girlfriend was just a little ugly. Her nickname wasn't "Critter" for nothing. I forgot about the right stick slowing this thing down and boy is it fast. I had to take it outside to test it. The wind is really blowing. About 10-15 mph according to the weatherman and this little bird held it's own. This being my first 4 channel single rotor I had a fight on my hands. But I got it to hover. Then got it to hover again. It really does fly nice. I also bought a MSR-X clone. It's a "Xieda 9958" got it from Xheli for $39.00 plus $16.00 for shipping. It's just as fast as the MSR-X. Even the TX looks like a Blade TX.
Tom
Oh yeah, the clone has a flybar.

You right about that Chopper. Well I do have a Novus 125 FP but have never gotten to really fly it. First time I spooled it up the tail rotor assembly flew off and it had to go back to the factory. Just got it back on tues. right now I'm sorta house bound. Got spinal issues. One too many bad landings when I was a paratrooper with the 82nd. Got physical therapy on fri. So my weekend is screwed cause they really drag me over the coals and it's back to the chair for this boy. Thats why I like indoor like my MCX. Later guys.
