You got it; for a 1300mAh battery, charging it at 1.3A is 1C.

Are you saying it's not letting you charge it? Did you switch the voltage to 7.4V?

Yeah pretty sure it was on 7.4 v as i'm keen on getting it right,so set voltage and 2s for 2x cells, couldnt see how to set the 15C rate. it charges on normal but not at 1.3 amp on 0.1 , 0.2 ... etc up until 1.0 and above, and at 1.3 alarms on both fast and normal charge. Must be just something i,ve overlooked , manual on mini disc which i can't see, have the download one tho and will go back to that. Cheers for your imput Smile

So i tried again and i think its because they arrived fully charged as each battery tested upwards of 7.4 Volts, could this be why they not charging at 1.3 amps? Cool

Hi Andy,

Your 2 cell battery has cells which at storeage level are 3.8V each = 7.6V.
Fully charged the cells are at 4.2V each = 8.4V.
Discharged to the safe level of 3.2V each cell = 6.4V.
(Don't even think of going below 3V/cell you'll ruin the battery!)

The 7.4V is only a nominal reference, your batteries will very rarely be at that voltage for long.

It is quite normal for chargers to reduce the current towards the end of a charge. The cell voltage rises with current and a full charge to 4.2V can only be acomplished with a very slow trickle to minimise the rise in volts. You may find the the charger even stops charging for a moment to check the zero current voltage level.

Your asking very sensible questions here on a very vital topic. Good on yah! Wink

Tom.
