In addition to the new "Hyper Taxi" VTOL and the other 3-axis gyro planes Horizon has been advertising for over a month, a flybarless Blade 450 has been unveiled.
It uses the proven BeastX FBL system, integrated into a Spektrum 7-channel receiver:
I'm fairly confident that those of us that already have the flybarred Blade 450 will be able to pick up one of those receivers and a spare FBL head to do a simple conversion. The heli is supposed to be available next month.
On a side not, the mSR has also gone flybarless:

Hi nick, have purchased a 450 with a flybar not 3 weeks ago and am gutted that already they have brought out another model! Do you know for sure that there will be a flybar-less upgrade for the 'old' style 450 or is that just an assumption. Thanks
In terms of the MSR (and who knows, maybe a FBL 120SR)...
...does this mean they might behave in a slight breeze!?!
Could it be? Could this be the holey grail for those of us who don't "3D" but want to fly outdoors?
Just what are the implications of this? Oh, be still my heart! Well, not too still cause then I'd be dead. Oh you know what I mean! _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...

LMAO Tom, maybe most of the parts will be compatible.
On HeliFreak, a Horizon rep said it will no longer have the co-axial style self-corrective tendencies of the 45° flybar. He said it's still very stable, but that it now has the "point and go" FBL feel of the mCP X. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

I've been on a waiting list at my LHS for a Blade mSR for weeks, but they've told me that they're not getting any more in. I guess it all makes sense now. Looking forward to my new mSR X when they're finally available
TBH, I've been following the Horizon Hobby "secret project" each week, and was really disappointed when they finally revealed that flying taxi thing. But I guess all the fuss was actually about the new gyro, which the new mSR X will have, so Horizon Hobby, you're forgiven _________________ Blade 120SR

Yeah I think the Hyper Taxi VTOL looks fun, but it definitely didn't deserve a full month of aggressive advertising.
And the gyro itself isn't actually new, it's just the FBL system from the mCP X. What's new is that they're sticking it UMX planes. _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

That's it, I couldn't wait. I pre-ordered my MSR-X from Brentford RC.
I'll have to deal with the missus later...actually...she wants a guitar amp and her birthday is coming up...hmmmmmm _________________ If only I could fly as well as I spend money I don't have...

Congrats, I look forward to hearing your opinion on it.
Good luck with the wife; if my girlfriend tried to tell me not to buy anymore helis she would be gone tomorrow. LOL _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Every time my wife says something about how many toys I have I remind her that I don't smoke. $ 65.00 a carton every week. Not to mention the damage to your body. That's $ 3,380.00 (US) a year.

Does this new 450 x work with a DX6I DSM2 radio? _________________ RC Submarines (3)
