Hi All,

I bought a RC Tech 6 channel USB sim controler (Xheli <$20).

I Use it mostly with HelisimRC and somtimes with FMS.

However, I am wondering what the two extra two switches (and one knob) on the top of the controler are for? And what position they should be in for basic flight training? The left switch is marked '5CH Gyro' the Right switch is marked MIX Off/On. And the knob is marked Gear/Pit.

Any help or clarification is greatly apreciated.

Thanks Smile

Hi, dave63

I am familiar with that specific transmitter.

Can you post a photo of it? I think we will be able to tell you the function from looking at it.

I think those two switches functions as the 5th and 6th channel in the simulator and only works if your simulator supports it.

On a heli I'd imagine one of them to be throttle hold and the other to be idle-up.

I think you'll need higher-end simulators such as the Phoenix or real flight to use those two switches.

Ok Thanks!

On the real model (not the sim) what is the function of Throttle Hold and Idle up?

I assume throttle hold is like cruise control but no clue on Idle up.

Hi dave63,

Throttle hold cuts the motor, good for handling the heli with power connected, or for practice autorotation landings. Twisted Evil

Idle up puts you into 3D mode with (usually) full power and -ve pitch at low stick, a little less power and zero pitch at mid stick, and full power and +ve pitch at high stick. The idea is to keep the head speed as near constant as possible in the 3D manouvers. Cool
