Howdy from SC. I was wondering if it's possible to make my novus 125 FP usable with my DX6i ? Thanks all.

Howdy Tom,
I've been trying to find a pic & spec for your Rx, but no luck.
If it's just a normal 4~6 channel Rx the all you need is a DSM2 compatible Rx and it will bind to your DX6i. I have used these in 5 of my models and have had no problems at all. At $5.99 USD you can't go wrong and the satillite Rx is not necessary for a small heli. If you can see it - it is in range. However, if you need the longer range the Sat works great (I have it in my big Cessna).
If you can send more info on your Rx (link or pic would be great) perhaps I can help more.

Howdy Tombo, the receiver thats in it now is the one that came with the heli. Not sure what it is and I wouldn't know how to change it if I did. It's one of those deals where I'd have to pay someone do it. I dont know a thing about building a helicopter from scratch. I'll try to find a link to the novus site or something. It would be nice if I could bind it to the DX6i.

Thanks for that Tom, lots clearer now.
Your Rx is the middle part shown in the pic. (Has the short black antenna wire attached.)
As you would have to strip the controller and connect the new Rx into it, I would say that it will be an 'advanced' job. I don't think that I could guide you through it unless we were sat together at the bench.
Sorry,

Got a reply back from the helimax folks. They suggested that I could turn the servo extent back just a couple degrees, no more than that at a time then test. So if there is a break in the weather this week I might get to take it to the soccer field and give it a run. I'll post the results. Thanks all.
