I modified the 9104 3ch/49MHz to 4ch/2.4GHz. (low cost/fixed pitch/
single rotor/4ch 2.4GHz/535mm.(21.06 in) main rotor dia/1300 mAh 7.4 Lipo)
As the following:
1) The orginal 4 in 1 controller - remove
2) Installation : 3 in 1 controller(Big Lama) and additional servo(aileron)
3) Detail installation : servo and adjustable linkage (BL)
4) Installation : Receiver (4ch or more)/2.4 GHz
5) The hard parts : setting/adjusting/trimming the controller/servo linkage/transmitter. Then fly !

Platinum !! That is SWEEEET....!!! I have a 9104 and the gyro on the controller board is shot.... whenever i take off it just spins wildly to the right.. I need a new tail unit and all the stuff you did to make it a 4 channel... About how much money did you have wrapped up in making it a 4 channel??? |

Hi mjg44mjg,
All parts I used from my stock. I have two Big Lama birds and rather full
spare parts of them.
Some parts like servo and receiver were transfered from my fixed wing.
So no additionall items for me.
Anyway, you can calculate the price from each item to be used.

Hi Hawzzy,
Yes, I do.
It quite well in the style of 4ch FP.
The main reason I did this due to I feel not familiar with the 3CH Tx
(throttle stick on the right side) and would like to use my common fleet Tx.
Also I had all components on hand.
Changing and adding was basically easy part of this conversion, the hard part is how to adjust and set the controller to match with Tx.

This is absolutely incredible, platinum. Your ingenuity amazes me!
You have said there is no Blade 120 SR available in your area? Who cares? You just make your own! Great job! _________________ Align: Trex 250 3GX + Trex 450 Pro with Vbar

Note : update for the 3 in 1 controller if you have to get a new one please try to find out the ESky "3 in 1" Mix Controller for Honey Bee CP3 (002496) rather than Big Lama controller. I think it was designed for the FP with tail motor may be more suitable for this modification.

Hey Platinum...i'm a new member to forum but i have an insatiable need (along with co-worker who owns 9104) to convert it to 4ch....however i'm not too sure how these parts are hooked up and what if anything is removed from original 9104 board/components......do you have a more detailed build sequence of pics or at least shots showing what was plugged in where....? |
