Sounds like your inner shaft, and possible the outer as well, is badly bent.

Tom.

Sounds like the clamping screw at the bottom of the inner shaft is loose, that has allowed the bearing holder to come off the top of the outer shaft and that permits the top rotor to flat and slap your bottom rotor.

If you extract the top rotor complete with shaft you'll see that the shaft has a small flat where the set screw tightens against, slide the assembly back in ensuring the top bearing holder sits onto the outer shaft and aline the flat on the bottom of the inner shaft to where the set screw is and tighten it.

Not unless the set screw in the drive gear is loose or missing.
Can you see a small flat at the lower end of the shaft?

Prior to the top rotor coming loose, was there any flight problems?
After tightening that screw, do the rotors rotate freely?

If the rotors turn freely and there was no previous flight problem, then the current situation sounds like battery or motor problem.

Is the battery pack taking a full charge?
What's the final voltage after charging?
How quickly dose the battery discharge in use?

I use this one mostly - seems to be very accurate for its price. Similar to - but better than my German TDM 600 and a fraction of the price.

The problem with horizontal tail rotors they tilt the heli. In forward flight its pushing upwards to tilt the heli forward, now when you want to go backwards it pushes the tail down and consequently that downward pressure translates into a dive.

The best way to cure that is to upgrade to heli with swashplate direction control to the bottom rotor. Or upgrade to single main rotor heli something like this one:
Nine Eagles Solo Pro 228P (Green 2.4Ghz Edition)

It's one small step forward in heli flying, but a giant leap forwards for funkind.'Razz'

Don't think it a power problem because I resently brought a new charger and battery. So what could it be?

Are you using Lithium-ion, or Lithium-Polymer battery?
For both types, a two cell battery the fully charged voltage should be 8.4v. However, that reading of 8v would depend on the voltage range used to take the reading.

If that's 8 volts after being charged then no, it's 0.4v low. 0.4v might seem small, however, when you take into account the discharge voltage range of LiPOs, it is significant. So, is that the reading from your battery charger or from a volt meter?

Try a few charge/discharge cycles and if using an AVO take another reading using the 20 volt range that will give two decimal place reading.
