Greetings all, i bought an electric coaxial helicopter (t-speed 9009) for my son for christmas and as soon as i test flew it and crashed, it was malfunctioning. (I knew i was in trouble when i read the instructions and the english poorly translated) i want to repair it myself, but don't know whether it is operator error or damaged. Here is the issue. when i try to lift off, the unit lifts, but then flops on it's side, either left or right. There seems to be plenty of power. Other than trashing the helicopter, does anyone have insight on what the issue might be?

Thanks in advance

I would look carefully at the flybar. Make sure it's not bent and that it can rock freely.

nick_onleove, thanks for your response that was very helpful. i tweaked the fly bar. i have since straightened it and it is flying, we are now on to developing our flight skills! Thanks so much for your insight.

The copter is proving to be better than the instructions.

FWIW, I chose this forum because of the tone of all of the responses and advice. Your helpful advice as proven this to be a very friendly group.

best,
schenck

It is a friendly group here.

I would also suggest searching through youtube...there are many helpful tutorials on how to learn controls.

How many channels does your helicopter operate on?

Glad to hear it!

Google tells me it's a 3-channel, celtic.

If you think you enjoy this heli Schenck, get you and your son a 4-channel heli as soon as it's financially feasible. I recommend something from the Blade/E-flite line.
