Post subject: Tail assembly twisting ... modification to lock |
|
|
My 450 tail boom locks in place OK ... but tail assembly after a few flights needs turning a few degrees to get aligned again ... I've tried loctiting the assembly onto tail boom ... re-tightening screws etc. But still it does it.
Today I decided ENOUGH ! So I took a slightly longer screw and added a nut at other end when it exits the body .. So now both threaded body and nut together make sure I get a good tight fit and it's now rock solid !
I found the thread in the body is poor and does not tighten well ... with the nut backing it up now - it's magic. _________________ If you don't crash - you ain't flying !

Good idea solentlife, I found loctite worked for me but it made it very hard to get the tail off when I needed to.
