Post subject: tail rotor servo?? |

Okay, I've been working on my hover and on one run I did get to close to a wall before I could shut down. Only a couple inches up. Tail blades hit the wall some but just a few nicks so I didn't think nothing of it. Today I spin it up to practice some more and it appears the tail is reversed. To keep the tail from moving to the right I have the stick all the way over to the right. Centered it goes pretty quik to the left and if I move left it can get going pretty quick. Can a blade tap cause the servo arm to revers some how? How crazy does this sound? Thanks,

Hi kg4kgp,
I think that you may have damaged your tail motor as well as chipping the blades. The main rotor will make the heli spin to the left (tail to the right), and you are trying to compensate for this with right rudder.
That does not sound reversed to me. What is happening is that there is not enough power in the tail motor to compensate for the torque of the main motor. That is why the heli spins rapidly to the left (tail to the right) but only slowly with full right rudder.
Incidentally, it helps if you watch the nose not the tail, I know that it's hard to see the nose when you're tail-in but at least you keep the correct orientation to the controls. _________________ Keep Smiling |
