PostPost subject: Tarot / Align Screw and washers sets
Reply with quote

Hi guys
I recently started my Tarot 450 pro build. Its my first ever build!!
Build thread will be following!!
Aaaanyway on the customary strip, loctite and rebuild of the tail box and slider I noticed a small brass washer missing.
The Align manual doesnt show a part number for said washer only its dimensions.
Cant find screw and washer kits for the 450 pro anywhere!!
Can someone please help me!
Cheers Jay

Problem with such is it's not usually sold separate as far as I know. Plus the screw sets are usually for the main items.

Can you describe better which washer and exactly where ? It may be that a washer can be salvaged from another members replaced tail system .. I know I have a couple of tail systems that have washers ... but need know exactly what you need ...

Are you talking about Part no. 131 on page 33 / 34 of the manual ? (Page 34 / 35 in the PDF ...)

If so - this is a standard Align control link spacer washer and same for near all trex 450's and clones. It stops the crank arm binding on the bush and bolt holding it.

Anyone got a bust tail system they can let him have one in post ? I'm over in Singapore and not near my machine.... which is in Latvia way up north !!

I don't think they sell the washers separately.
However, you can buy the whole set $2.60 cheaply at HobbyKing. Keep the rest as spare.

Ebay ... Hobby king ... so many sellers of sets that it really is a cheap way to go ...

Example .. I have the long servo bar that screws into back of swashplate and other end in the vertical slot .. stops the swashplate from turning .. the thread went in the swashplate. I looked at replacing just the swash ... cheap enough via HK or ebay .. in the end it was nearly as cheap to buy an entire head system ... replace the whole and keep the old for spare parts.

I have had a run of failures of tail system mounts ... the small blocks snapping where it screws on tail boom ... found it was a belt problem. Price of mount itself was only a $ or so less than a complete tail system ... and that was cheap as well. In fact then found a better tail set-up - the Tarot all in one piece system ... which now sits on my bench waiting my return to fit. The still in service split system will go in my goody box as spares for my other 450.

Simply put - the price of clone parts is so cheap on ebay and HK ... there's no need to hunt out elusive single bits that often are not sold separately ... unless you need it urgent over local counter.

Just a comment ... I have a plastic compartmentalised box ... with clip lid. Actually I have 3 ... Stacked on shelf with label at end stating what is inside ..

a) dismantled head and tail parts in separate compartments ...
b) Screws for heli's .. each size / construction in separate compartments ...
c) Servo gears / parts again in separate compartments and labeled what make.

It makes life so much easier !!

I still can't figure out exactly what part you guys are talking about, my Trex 450 Pro manual doesn't even go to page 34.

But I have two spare 450 tail boxes, one from a Belt-CP and one from a B450. I'd be more than happy to send you one if it would work.

This is the part that the washer is missing from
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/%5F%5F14949%5F%5F450%5FSize%5FHeli%5FMetal%5FTail%5FSlider%5FControl%5FArm.html
The HK one comes with washer and bolt but the align one doesnt!! How annoying!
Im wondering if there are any engineering firms that might make washers of this size that will be good enough?

Jay:

Why don't you let the folks know of the missing part. If they are any kind of a decent company they will replace the part free of charge. It's that knid of service that makes a company servive in hards times like we are in know.
