Thanks again Blues4dog. I am looking into that deal. How long have you had yours?. Is it your first two blade (non contra rotating) or have you had experience with them before?.

Had mine for about 6 monhs now. It was my first CP heli. I had a couple of Nine Eagles Solo Pro V2's and my Twister Chinook before that. FP and coaxial.

No previous experience with CP so it was a very steep learning curve. (Still is as I don't have it mastered yet.)

It is now also equipped with a KDS Flymentor which gives it a 3 axis gyro similar to FBL helis and I am in the process of swapping out the RX so that I can use it with my Walkera DEVO 8 TX.

It is not an easy bird to fly.

Cheers

Wink Hi Blues4dog, how is your twister coming along with the new RX and TX. Has it made a large difference or what you expected.

Should help reduce "in ground experiences" lol.

The DEVO 8 is fantastic with the 3DX. Really easy to navigate with the touch screen when setting up a heli or plane. I am so impressed that I have ordered another 2 RX 801's for another of my helis and for a large scale multi engined warbird.
It just feels good in my hands and everything is adjustable.

Eventually I will have 4 of my helis and one fixed wing controlled by the DEVO.
I would like to make it 5 helis but it seems a little ironic that the only one I can't get to work with it is another Walkera.

2 of my fixed wings are on another brand of TX. (Almost as good but only 6 channel).
Everything else (Except that other damned Walkera) will be on the DEVO.

The 3DX works a treat. Love them both.

Cheers

Thats great news B4D, So do you think I am better to purchase the 3DX without TX and then get a TX with an extra channel or two? From your comments I get the feeling the gyro is quite a benefit to flying the heli.
All the best, K.

Hi Kruisn.

If I was to get the 3DX again now I would probably do that.
For me the DEVO 8 is a great TX and much cheaper than comparable high end brands.
There is a thread about it which might be worth looking at too.

If you have the cash to get the TX bundled with the V100D08 micro heli it would give you some good CP experience first and then when you want to move up to the 3DX you could just get the RX 801 and use the DEVO TX with both.
As an added bonus, the V100D08 is cheaper and easier to fix when you crash it.

I got the KDS Flymentor from HK and, while it is a great device, it is a PITA to set up. Took me weeks of fiddling and internet research to get it right. The manual is useless. Ok if you enjoy constantly reassembling helis I guess.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers

Hope im not too late but thought i'd share...im a learner and have a 3dx storm,i love it,easy to fly, easy an cheap to repair,it may not have the ball tearing performance of the big stuff but after all it is a 400,it's like a shoe that you can grow into...it will pull some pretty sick 3D move's stock once you get there..just buy the option fin set cos that bit of wire it comes with stock is crap and does a bad job at protecting them tail rotors..fin set p.n 6602304
