Well I took it into my local hobby shop. Unfortunately, they don't stock parts for this heli. But, upon inspection it seems that something is missing from the upper rotor assembly as it wobbles way to much. I was told to get a new blade attachement assembly.

At this point I think I am going to just pitch the thing. This is an entry level heli. Was fun while it lasted. If I get another one, it will be from the local hobby shop that stocks spare parts. Also, this unit uses the infrared controller which is not very good. The signal can be blocked/interupted easily. Will get one with a regular radio frequency controller.

No probs re help there Tito, we just love solving problems, and everyone learns as we go along.

Looks to me like your heli is behaving exactly like my little co-axial did when I tried locking the top rotor with no flybar. The two connecting links are quite normal in this model but could be giving some unwanted friction. The flybar should not move out of the horizontal. It is your stabilising gyro for pitch & yaw. If it is locked in position - as it appears in the second video - then the results will be as shown.

Drat - missed that post - I was typing.

I can't see anything missing from your top rotor assembly Tito, looks AOK but of course that is static. in the video something is locking up. I'd love to get my hands on this wee beastie but I can't so we have to do the best we can.

Fully agree with your choice of 'Next Heli', spares and local stockist are the way to go, if you can, I can't here. China is my prime source of supply.

Tombo,

I see you're in Portugal. My wife is from Germany. Was just there last July.

I would have thought it would be warmer by you at this time of year. I see you have a low of about 45 F, and high of what 55 F?; Not sure on Celcious.

I'm a big sailor. I sail on Lake Michigan, and charter down in the Carribean in the winters. I believe Portugal is a big sailing/boating/fishing country no?; being a big waterfront country.

Interesting. I'd love to do more traveling. Us Americans are having a tough time of it these days; economically you know.

I had to wait 4 weeks to get parts from China for my heli. So, I feel ya' on that. I could have gotten something locally, and now I see that's the way to go if possible. But, I see the value in a board like this for those people that can't drop into their local hobby shop.

Tell ya what. I'll ship this thing to you if you want. I'm just gonna pitch it anyway as it was real cheap. Give me a shipping address and it's yours.

Tito:

Temperatures can be very misleading, yesterday at 15:00 it was 79ºF (26.2ºC) on my veranda shade thermometer.

Love to get my hands on this heli - but there are many problems with the Portugese customs. I'll PM you with a few details, don't want to bore the forum with them.

I have some Germans in my African Drumming Group. That's me in the blue shirt next to the door. Living along the Algarve we have many different Europeans.

You can catch glimpses of my local flying field here.

Eureka! Figured it out!

The arms in the plastic piece at the top of the shaft, that get sandwiched between the rotor clamp, sheared off. You couldn't really see it because they remained in there, and out of sight. But, it was obvious that the play in the upper rotor assembly was not normal. Since this was my first heli I had nothing to compare correct play to until I went into the local hobby store and felt some of the ones they had.

So, solution was just to replace that black plastice piece at the top. Now it works just fine! Very Happy

Tombo,

I like the cockit view from your plane, though I felt a little dizzy afterwards. Shocked

This is the area I'm talking about. See the black hatched zone I drew, which represents the horizontal tabs.
