Hi to all.
I ended up w/ a Turnigy 2200mah 2 cell 7.4 volts which i can't use.
Can i separate the cells & use them as two 3.7 V batts?
Cheers

Hi Mike,
Can be done, but you will need a very good soldering iron and the connectors.
Take great care when separating as the cells are often very well stuck together and the last thing you want to do is puncture a cell.

Send it back, get the one you want. I would not mess with taking it apart. Usually does not end well.. |

Hi Guys.
I Had a bit if a go at separating the cells. I decided not to venture any
further & take good advice & get the proper battery. I wont worry about
sending the other batt back as it took 6 weeks to get here.
So here i am w/ a 7.4 V batt that has no bird to nest under.
I have the DX6I TX. Any suggestions ( non coax) not to expensive bird
i may want to get to nest this poor little batt?
Cheers

You could try upsizing to .....say a 600? and use the 7.4V for the RX battery.
I am setting up my current 600 build that way. |

Good comment Ferret, I never thought of that. That's all I use for my helis. 7.4 and a good regulator. |

Hey Crash!
I have never set one up this way and flown it. This one (Scale Mi-24/Trex 600) just shouted to have a separate power/motor and RX battery source. I am still building and ordering parts as I go. Landing gear sequencer is on order and going in next. So many servos going off at the same time that it made me nervous to use the 5-6amp BEC built in on the Hobby Wing ESC/BEC.
I am also concerned with the total amp draw across the "bus bar" in the Walkera RX2801 PRO. I have standardized on the Walkera's for my little fleet. Is my thinking right to just connect the servo +/- to an external bus powered by the same 7.4v battery and keep the signal wire connected to the RX?
Sorry for stealing the thread. |
