Someone mentioned this before. i think it is spot on.

RC heli is the most difficult to fly well. Then RC airplane. Then RC cars/trucks.

RC submarine ?? I am not sure why bothered ?

G'day Sbobby,

I think your list, including builds and set-ups, should read:

Flybar CP helis
Submarines
Quads & flybarless helis
FP helis
Fixedwing AC
Trucks & cars

Certainly the flybar CP heli is harder to fly than a real one!

Just my €0.02 worth.

Tom.

Hi

you've missed the cross-over category

Flying Trucks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxNzRBIeYtQ

If fitted with build-in floats then all disciplines are possible
land sea and air, even fixed wing impressions of helis...prop hanging.

wow - Burgess.

Those trucks must have a pusher propeller for movement?

How else could they move through the air.

I want one.

Never missed a thing there Burgess, those trucks are fixed wing with pushers behind the main wings. Take another look at the layout, it's an aircraft plan with a very wide fuse!

Well.. they look more like something you'd see the name Eddie Stobart on than Ryanair, however, drive them on the ground and take-off. It's a case of 10 4 rubber duck, rotate.
They just look great fun and not too expensive or complex to build. Here's one being built and flown.

I heard a guy at the RC field say that flying a RC helicopter is like balancing a marble on a pane of glass.

Me thinks he's right.

RC Submarines are the most fun out of all the RC stuff I've ever done. However the maintenance level is very high. Plus a suitable site is very hard to find. Swimming pools are to small.

When CAA (UK) decided that guys like my Father should learn Heli's ... being a friend of Bristow ... started having Heli lessons at the "Beehive", Gatwick Airport....

I can remember my Father coming home after flights and his haggard look ! Now he'd been in Bombers during WW2 ... did Berlin Air Lift ... etc. and he said himself - they were the most frightening machine he'd ever encountered. His expression was "Accidents looking for a place to happen".

My Father being Chief Flight Ops for CAA eventually convinced the Director it was NOT a good idea !!
