Hi all,
Can anyone explain the difference between digital servos vs standerd ones. From what I've been reading about them, with digital servos it's like "flying on rails". At 3 times the price of a comparable standerd gyro... I'd like to get some reviews of them from pilots who have really used them before I sink that much more money into my next bird.
Thanks, & Soft Landings.

Digital servos are faster and more precise than standard servos. Servo speeds are measured by how fast it takes for it to travel 60 degrees. A standard servo might take .20 sec while a digital servo should take no more than .12 sec. It is more accurate meaning that when the receiver sends a signal for the servo to move 14 degrees clockwise, then the digital is more likely to move precisely that amount while standard servos will move there + or - one degree (not sure on that number).

Also, they are more expensive Laughing Hence the reason most people only use digital servo with the tail rotor so as to get the best result from their gyro and ultimately leading to a steady tail hold.

Yes the digital servo will improve your response. More importantly it will work faster with your gyro to compansate for any drift.
