Now I got you wondering, huh? who would buy a servo that expensive.....
ME!! I just thought I'd share an experience so in the future you will look before you spend money..
A couple of weeks ago I was at the field flying my 600. Just having a great day. On a flyby I heard the motor cutting in and out, like it was sucking air. Any of you guys who have flown nitro planes, know the sound.. I land, take apart what I can on the carb, and blow it out and put it back together. Hmmmm still doing it. I take out the clunk line and change it, install a new filter and change the fuel line, and it's still running like crap. So I stop flying that heli for the day and work on it later. I get it home and pull the motor, take the carb off and in the process, notice that one of the screws is stripped. CRAP!!! I drill it a little bigger, take a tap and cut off the tip to make it a bottoming style tap and put in some new threads. Drill the carb out to take the bigger screw and put it back together. I go out front to do a test hover and it's worse then before, it's really cutting off and on bad now. I figure that after 25gallons of fuel and 1.5 years of use, I wore out the motor. I am on my 3rd set of bearings too. So I take it back apart and wait till the weekend.
The next saturday I go out and buy a new OS Hyper 50. I put it in at the field and get it all setup for the first flight. I start up my new motor and take the heli to the flight line. It's blubbering rich, spitting fuel everywhere and I start to spool up the motor......... Well, this is what I hear...
"WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH", It's doing the same thing, but worse. It's so bad the tail is kicking out 180deg every time it rev's back up. I'm lost now, I have changed everything, what's left??? My friend happened to be standing on the left side of the heli and calls me over, he says " watch your throttle servo when you spool up.." So I do, as I start to spool up the heli, the servo starts twitching all over the place... I did all this work for nothing, ALL OF IT, Nothing needed to be done except change the servo. But no!!!!! I don't look everything over, I just assumed that it was a dirty carb.
The moral of the story??? Don't ever assume anything, inspect everything that could cause your symptoms, everything!!! Had I just grabbed the servo arm and tried to move it while the heli was powered on, I would have been able to move it and known that it was bad.
And that is the story of how my throttle servo cost me 160 bucks...

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Now THAT is a very enlightening story! I guess on the bright side you won't have to worry 'bout replacing your motor for a long time. And in a way you make me feel better knowing that even the Pro's are susceptable to boo-boos' once in a while. Wink You got me though, I was trying to think what it could be b4 I reached the end of your tale,(I never read the end of a story first) I was thinkin', "it was bad fuel", I never realized that carbs had to have a servo, I guess that is the servo that makes you require a 7 ch. radio? The Governor servo?? but you said "throttle" servo, didn't ya...I will tell ya lil' somethin' here..I was toying greatly with the idea of getting a 600N last week. I was THAT >< close! But tried usin' my brain, and man that hurt Rolling Eyes, So I started thinkin 'bout cost (money) from the time I get it 'til...whenever. I want a bigger heli, and no, not a EXI 500, *cough*. Wink But, the 500 class is a bigger Heli, possibly big enough to handle a bit of wind and be more stable,... give me the feel of a big bird without the big bird cost. We will see. Hey, there is a question 'bout that though, Do you think you could use 450 electrics to hover a 500? I mean just hover around a bit, nothing fancy of course. Thx for the story though, that actually was a well written lil' tale, I was really into it there Cool

Nope. The motor would be too small the load required to spool it up would blow out the esc. If you get a Trex500, they come with the electronics.
Here is a good price on one, and it comes with everything..

I think for my next heli I am going to get a 600 electric flybarless.. The 700E looks nice, but the batteries would cost a fortune.

I'd like a 600 or 700 fbl myself (in case Santa is watching this forum) But I don't think I could handle the OS factor if I crash one.
