I am on my second 9104 in 3 years. Yes it is a poorly built heli, but that makes the challenge.
Adding weight to balance it is counter productive to an under powered aircraft.
I moved the swash plate servo inside the air frame with the arm outside where the servo use to be. It fits but you must take some screws out to spread the frame. Then you must drill two access holes in the left frame, in order to install the servo mounting screws inside the frame pointing out. The original servo linkage is long enough to reach the swash plate but needs to be bent about 30 degrees to clear the frame. I did the normal arm extension on the servo.
I have hovered it off my palm with no left skid weight. It works. I also slid the battery forward just a touch for better forward flight. Hover off my palm with one hand on the controller is a great improvement for a 9104.
My photos won't unload. Now to fix the PC.Smile

Well, not sure if my transmitter or receiver just went bad.
My tail rotor ran at full speed no matter what the throttle did.
I only have another set of Transmitter and Receiver in a second freq. Installed that board and all is good. But I exchanged both pieces.
Any easy check to isolate receive or transmitter?
Thanks

How easy/or not would it be to change the crystals in either the Transmitter or receiver?

No crystals but a new circuit board is only $8 US.
Probably my best route. Then I will know which is bad. RX or TX.

Got my new circuit board and proved the transmitter to be bad.
So I am grounded until my Esky 300 arrives.

Dose the TX and RX have frequency identification labels either 27mhz or 40mhz.
