Hey guys,
ok, have a lil prob with the tail binding, but here is the deal, I was adjusting the washout arms, had the TX on and the batt hooked up to give me power, motor disc., ran out of AA for my alt. power supply, so anyway, am adjusting the washout arms and picked up the heli and noticed the boom box was hot, felt the gyro and it was hot, tried to move the tail, no move, unplugged everything, let it all cool down, hooked back up, tried to move tail, no move, so, i tried the lil' button on the gyro, the light just stays green, i hold the button down and nothing happens, I push it twice and nothing happens....I am assuming the gyro is now burnt out?? any suggestions/ideas?
Thx ahead of time! |

If you plug the rudder servo into the RX directly, does it work?
that's the true test if the gyro is bad. The ESC getting hot is why I don't use it for power when setting up the heli.
I know, I know, you know that, I read that in your post.... But you thought it would be ok for a little bit... I have done it myself. Another thing to try is hook up your AA pack and see if everything works. You might have overheated your built in BEC and fried it.
If that's the case you can test it by removing the red wire from the servo plug, plugging it back in and then hooking up your AA pack, see if the ESC arms and then test it for throttle function. If this does work, then spend 20 bucks and get a castle creations BEC and solder it in and go fly.
I hope I helped a little.. |

Oh , no worries Crash, yo always help, no kidding, and you are right, I shouldn't use the batt...but I really was outta AA batts..anyhoo, I just now hooked it up again after ..what, an hour since my last post... or so, and the gyro does work, i guess my rudder servo is burnt....it was getting very hot this afternoon while i was trying to figure out what to do, my gyro goes thru the adjusting sequence, and all that good stuff, all the cyclics work, everything is fine as far as I can see except the T-servo...Jeez, I can't wait 'til I know everything so I will stop making such expensive mistakes.....
Oh, thx for the BEC tip, the soldering part, will have to write that down in my lil' notebook, it is full of these lil' bits that you and others give me, just hard to remember 'em all when I need it, lol.... |

Glad to hear it's getting sorted out and working again.
Are you using a digital tail servo? It's not like them to burn out unless you have the gyro set for the wrong servo, using an analog servo and the gyro set for digital will burn it out. You might want to double check your settings. |
