Post subject: Clearview too slow on my laptop :( |
|
|
I'm glad that I downloaded the Clearview demo before going for the full purchase.
Clearview runs extremely slow on my machine.
Did anyone else run into this problem?
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 1.8 GHz and 1 GB of RAM
I seem to have Mobile Intel GMA X3100 video card with 128 MB of memory
I DO NOT have a 3D video card or a DirectX 9 card as indicated on the Clearview site.
Is there a workaround for this problem? Can I run it normally after installing some software or with different configuration / settings?
How does HeliSimRC compare with Clearview. Has anybody used both?
Thanks! |

Have you tried using the 'ClearView1' startup instead of the 'ClearView' one. It is meant for lower power machines. You do need the latest DirectX and Java installed.
I found HeliSimRC realism very poor when compared to ClearViews'.

Works perfect after installing DirectX!
I'll get the latest Java as well.
Thanks! |

Thanks for the update. You will find my ClearView models here. Scroll towards the bottom of the page. The V-22 I worked with Ken on is worth a look.

You'll get minium performance with just 1 GB of main memory. You will need at least 2 gb. I've got 6GB and it's super. My machine is for gaming only so games play real well.
Your swapping memory all the time is why it's so slow. Upgrade to 2 gb and I think you'll be good.

That was very helpful! I upgraded to 2.5 Gb and it did the trick. Didn't need a video card or something difficult like that.
Thanks for the perfect advice! |
