I administrate the ClearView forum and have seen no negative Win 8 reports. As far as I know most sims will be fine on Win 8 as long as you follow the instructions to the letter and the manufacturers have stated that it is compatible with Win 8.
ClearView allows for a free demo (no committment to buy) to check whether or not it is compatible with your system. It will run for 650 seconds of total use then stop. I do not know of any other sim (apart from the free ones) that offer this service.

The real crux is whether the Sim allows 64 or 32bit ...
Near most aps will run on 32bit, even older stuff ... but 64 is a whole ball game in itself.

My ClearView runs fine on 64 bit, the improvements I see may be due to the better computer as well as the 64 bit OS. Hard to tell when you step up computer OS and hardware.
