Post subject: Honey Bee CP 3 Skidding left |

I have a new CP3 that skids to the left on power up. Right stick only induces a bank. Swash plate seems level but I did try adjusting it to move move right but once again only induces right bank. Anybody know how to adjust this condition/ I'm a bit of a newbie to this.
Thanks.

hi tg and welcome to the forum,
if your blades spin clockwise looking from above then what you describe is perfectly normal behaviour. there is an interesting post about this in the blade 400 section marked (blade 400 pulling left.... (help). take a look i think it will help you for sure. |

All model helis pull left and it's worse in ground effect when it has to tilt a little to counter. You are not putting enough power into the liftoff, you need the skids to just leave the ground before giving it right aileron to counter. If the skids are firmly on the ground it will tip and blade strike.
The alternative is a short burst of power, enough to make it jump about kneehigh and apply the right aileron as it comes up moving back towards center as it climbs to height.
If you watch this video of mine you will see the gentle liftoff from the helis point of view.
