Hovercontrol

Hi guys,

I'm brand new on the re heli scene and am trying to learn how to control these little copters. The thing is I've been trying to find a simulator to assist me in my quest to get helis in the air and actually flying it well enough to allow it to stay in the air for more than a minute lol.

So I'm wondering if sims are actually enough to learn on and also I found this site HoverControl at http://www.hovercontrol.com/ and there are downloads available there which doesn't actually cost anything. But I don't know if those type of simulators are actually good for RC helis.

The site that you found is for the real aircraft sims (I use FSX myself and it will not help your model flying). My personal recommendation is the ClearView sim, There's a good ClearView forum to join and the support is excellent. I think that value for money it's about the best, (my view only, others may think differently). However, a sim only teach you how to fly - no sim will teach you to fly.

What you learn on the sim is the muscular response required in various situations and that is just the how. Applying these responses takes a lot of practise, some people claim to have done it in a day, others admit to months and some never make it.

This is one great hobby, but it does require a lot of skill and attention but the rewards are the best.
