I would like to know more about this. I have a cx2. The next step would be a Blade 400. I looked at the 400. Actually, I prefer smaller birds. Is the Trex 250 a size inbetween the cx2 and the 400? I'm not sure what the numbers mean. I take it that this brand is as good as eflite?
Thanks for your answers. |

I wouldn't recommend going from a CX2 to a T-Rex 250. The Rex 250 is a handfull to control even for pilots experienced in larger helies.
As for the blade 400's, I've heard that they aren't that great.
Under powered, servos burn out, sloppy head & swash... But that's just from what I've heard, YMMV.
If you really want to get into the hobby & have the time, $$ & patience I'd go for a T-Rex 450. |

Thanks for your reply. Is there something smaller than Blade 400 or Trex 450 that you could recommend. Im looking for something to fly in the back yard. Maybe something a little bigger than the Mx2? Also, I was surprised to hear something negative about the Blade 400. At any rate the LHS has all the parts and a technician who could work on it so that's a consideration. I wasnt impressed by the looks of it. It looked kind of cheap. I'm a graphic designer and I'm also into how it looks. Some of the brands are very aesthecally pleasing, including the Trex's.
Any recomendations are greatly appreciated. |

For just flying around in the back yard, you might be better off sticking with the CX2, unless you have a really BIG yard. Despite what many think, smaller CCPM birds are a lot less forgiving & harder to fly then bigger ones.
You could also dial down the swash mix%, travel limits, expo & duel rates in the radio, add extra flybar weights etc., to make a smaller bird more forgiving to fly. |
