On my dx6i you plug in the battery on the helicopter.
Then turn on the TX'r while holding the trainer switch forward. It that's a few seconds which seems like a long time but that how you do it. After they bind let the trainer switch go back to neutral.

I'm not sure if you helicopter has a receiver what requires a bind plug?
If it does put the bind plug on before you do anything. Then remover it after the process is over.

Good luck with it.

Jack

PS: I looked the mcpx up on the net. It does not require a bind plug.

call Horizon hobby support line. They are great. always treated me well. I have nothing but respect for Horizon hobby.

They can help you.

Sense you are following the correct procedure for binding your heli I'm sure they will add something to the procedure that will get you tooked up.

Have all your stuff there when you call and they will get you fixed up.

I've done that when I was having trouble getting the elevator and airleons to work together.

Try having more distance between heli and tx, you may have them too close. I have had bnf helicopters that were troublesome and took several attempts to be successful. Some times its just a matter of perseverance.
I seem to remember the mcp-x is a bit complicated as you have to apply rudder during the bind process.

I'm guessing here but it seems to me I saw something in my DX6I manual that said be three feet away when binding. One of you guys accross the pond will need to convert that to meters (One maybe).

With my mcpx and my dx6i i have to have the throttle down and both sticks pushed to the center while holding the bind switch on the back then turn it on try that and let me know if it worked

well, i took your advice. thank you!!! you're right, they were very cool about it, and they're sending me a new board first thing monday.
funny, i've had this heli for a month but haven't flown it much because things (life mostly) keep getting in the way. hopefully i'll be able to start enjoying it as intended, very soon

today the new board arrived. it installed in a couple minutes, easy peazy.
however, the heli kept acting like it wasn't bound in the non-computer configuration. the blades would not spin up. it was then that i learned from the tech support guy at horizon hobby that SOMETIMES THE MCPX WILL NOT SPOOL UP UNLESS THE THROTTLE TRIM HAS BEEN TURNED DOWN.
it worked immediately after adjusting the trim. i don't know where to post that info, but it should be put somewhere, because it's useful to know

I think that's true of all Blade (E-Flite) rc helis.
